Kwara Must Change Online Senatorial Polls To End Today
Leading Pro-Democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change (KMC) has announced that its 3 online senatorial polls ahead of the 2019 general election shall end today and it urges more people to participate in the poll before it is concluded.
The 3 senatorial polls are for Kwara Central Senatorial district between People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Bukola Saraki and All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Kwara South senatorial district between APC candidate, Arc Lola Ashiru and PDP's Senator Rafiu Ibrahim and Kwara North senatorial district between APC candidate, Sadiq Umar and PDP Zakari Muhammed.
In a statement released on Wednesday, signed by its President Abdulrazaq Hamzat, Kwara Must Change stated that it believes that the result of the 6 days poll would indicate, to a great extent, the direction of the 2019 election in Kwara State.
The online poll currently running on Kwara Must Change (KMC) Facebook group and page respectively was created 6 days ago and it has been running ever since.
Experts have argued that, accurate predictions of elections can be critically important for business and social purposes. Households and businesses may base important economic decisions on the likely policies of a future government, if polls indicate a possibility of change.
Reliable polls would also help citizens make better informed plans ahead of time, rather than reacting chaotically to an unforeseen turn of events.
Analysts maintained that, although election polls attract a great deal of attention for their ability to predict the outcome of elections, their most important function is to help journalists and citizens understand the meaning of the campaign and the election.
Polls help to explain, among other things, what issues are important, how candidate qualities may affect voters’ decisions, and how much support there is for particular policy changes.
Kwara Must Change (KMC) therefore calls on all members of the public to carefully follow the poll on its facebook platforms and also participate.

This is Attahiru Ibrahim, the Ag. Executive Secretary of NHIS who the Minister of Health has boxed into a corner and compelled to release the sum of N11.9 billion from civil servant enrollees money in their custody.
NHIS money is not money coming from the Government to the agency. It is citizens contribution for Health service delivery by mostly civil servants. This is the money that is being mismanaged by this man and the minister.
In another corrupt development, the Ag. ES in the month of August 2017 approved the sum of N30, 661,400 to himself and 5 of his cronies to attend a training they didn't register for.

Dear Sir,
OPEN LETTER TO GENERAL BUHARI
I have been constrained to write you through the media because I do not have an alternative way of reaching you. Permit me to share my opinion on your presidential ambition, which I think is equally shared by many Nigerians of my generation irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
Sir, I heard about you first on the 31st of December 1983. Then I was a ten year old boy in primary six, celebrating with the whole nation on the arrival of our military Heroes. At least so we thought! The jubilations were spontaneous. The nationwide celebrations signalled the demise of the second republic and ushered in the military dispensation commonly referred to as the Buhari/Idiagbon regime. Immediately you launched the War Against Indiscipline and introduced the Nationwide Monthly Sanitation Exercise. The WAI crusade stuck in my brain and still reverberates up till now. To simplify the message my Teacher introduced an Igbo acronym for WAI: Wepu Ajo Ihe; which literally translates: Remove Bad Thing.
Sir, I must confess that the image that stuck in me about Buhari/Idiagbon was that of two no-nonsense characters, straight talkers, people who meant yes when they said yes and vice versa. This impression I believe was equally shared by many others in my generation.
Today, I am a 41 year old Nigerian. A lot has changed. I see things differently now. I am now a fully grown man who can analyse issues critically. One thing I believe passionately is that it is very important for one to set a standard for oneself, but equally more important to sustain the standard.
On the final lap of your presidential campaign for 2011, you made an open declaration in front of the media and your supporters, without mincing words you stated emphatically that 2011 would be your last attempt to contest the Presidency. Going by your legacy and standard, many People including I took you by your words. After all Buhari means yes when he says yes. However that promise was short lived. Before one can say Jack Robinson you have joined the race again for the fourth consecutive time, contrary to your open declaration.
Of course I concede you have every right to change your mind and contest every election as long as you live. It is however very remarkable to observe that you shot yourself in the foot when you reneged on your promise to Nigerians not to contest the Presidency again. So judging you by your own standard, you have fallen below expectations. The pertinent question people are asking now is ” HOW CAN WE EVER TRUST YOU AGAIN”? Another important questing worth asking you is ” WHAT IS NOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BUHARI AND OTHER POLITICIANS”? I would say none! Oh yes you have got the constitutional right to contest, but eating your words has done your reputation more harm than good. People now see you, and quite justifiably, just like a typical politician who is unstable and unreliable.
Some of your supporters continue to amuse me by claiming that President Jonathan allegedly signed a one term pact with them. Unlike you Jonathan never made any open declaration to serve only for one term. Those of them who continue to make this ridiculous allegation have refused to produce the transcript of the said agreement or tender any proof to substantiate this. So as far as Nigerians are concerned Jonathan never struck any one term deal with us. But you did promise openly and suddenly reneged. In fact you actually sealed the promise with your tears. An elder Statesman of your calibre and pedigree made a promise and shed tears to seal it, that should have been final. It is very symbolic when an Elder sheds tears in the continent of Africa. It was a covenant with Nigerians not to contest again. A promise abruptly broken. But this is politics. Everything is possible in this game.
Sir, I know you have many reasons for reneging on your promise but most of these reasons are laughable. Some claim your supporters put pressure on you to change your mind, but this is an old excuse which is as old as Nigeria. Even late General Abacha had people begging him to contest. A principled and disciplined officer like you should have remained steadfast to your open declaration. Others claim you are still young, after all you would be only 72 by the next Presidential election. At 72 you would still be much younger than Mugabe. So they claim! But they conveniently refused to check Mugabe’s next door neighbour Madiba. Suffice it to say that Mandela is the very opposite of Mugabe and the ideal role model for all African leaders. Mandela declined to go for a second term because according to him , age was not on his side. He could have won a second term and transformed to a life President if he wished. But he never did. He voluntarily made way for the younger generation to continue from where he stopped. This is what is expected of you now to retire voluntarily and join the respected league of Elders where you truly belong.
Another reason which some of your supporters have tendered is that you are genuinely motivated by service and patriotism. I gladly take this on board. I can give you the benefit of the doubt that you are driven by the urge to serve your fatherland. This is a very valid reason. But Sir, I have an important question here for you. The question is simple, MUST YOU SERVE NIGERIA AS A PRESIDENT ONLY? IS THERE NO OTHER CAPACITY YOU CAN SERVE US EXCEPT THE PRESIDENCY? It is very erroneous to imagine that you can only serve Nigeria only in one capacity. During the regime of late General Sani Abacha, you accepted the appointment to serve as the Chairman of the then Petroleum Trust Fund PTF. The general opinion was that you served faithfully in this capacity. Well done Sir! But you never asked Abacha to vacate office for you as your former subordinate in the army. Never! In fact that would have been a dangerous move, if not suicidal. Rather you served faithfully under your former junior in the army. Sir, imagine if you take on another job like the Chairman of EFCC or ICPC or NDLEA. Nigerians actually need you to serve in one of these capacities much more than they need you in the Presidency. Mere mentioning your name as Chairman of EFCC would drive many corrupt men underground. But you wouldn’t . Either the Presidency or nothing. So it seems!
Sir, let us examine your service records. I consider your generation a very privileged one, indeed. In 1975 at the age of 33, you were appointed the Military Governor of the North-Eastern State, present day Borno & Yobe states. In 1976 at the age of 34 you became the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources. In 1978 at the age of 36 you became the Chairman of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Today the reverse is the case. Most Nigerians at age of 35 are still unemployed and still living with parents. Many are still not married. During your time you were already Governor at this age. One major reason for this unfortunate turn of events is that many elders like you have refused to voluntarily handover the baton to the next generation. Life should be a relay race where one runs his race and hands over to the next. In Nigeria many elders like you have run their races and are still holding on tenaciously to the baton. When are you going to handover to the next person? It is either you do it voluntarily or risk disgrace at the polls. In 1983 at the age of 41, exactly the same age as my humble self now, you became the Head of State. Most Nigerians in my age have not had the opportunity to serve, but we still remain committed to the Nigerian project. You should rather be graceful to God and to Nigerians for the numerous opportunities that have come your way to serve Nigerians. Others are begging for just one opportunity to serve.
Sir, you have to accept the stark reality on ground that you have served your time already. That is life for you. You run the race, you handover the baton for others to run, you cannot hold on to the baton more than is necessary. As a former head of State you are already a member of the Council of State Meeting. You have every avenue to channel your views across. You don’t necessarily have to be in a frontline role, you can serve in an advisory capacity. That is still service.
In conclusion, let me state that the greatest beneficiary should you emerge candidate of the APC would be President Jonathan. It is crystal clear that you cannot defeat President Jonathan in a free, fair and credible election, even in Katsina State. Sentiments aside, Jonathan would cruise to a landslide victory should you emerge candidate of the APC. In fact many political analysts believe that President Jonathan wants you to emerge as the APC flag bearer in order to secure a cheap victory. In fairness to you, any of your Children would pose a serious challenge to Jonathan more than yourself. I do not see Nigerians electing a 72 year old former Head of state to lead us in this Digital era. With due respect to you Sir, you belong to the Analogue age and therefore, will not fit in as president in this digital era. This is the blunt truth. Please do not enter the Guinness book of world records on a negative note. Losing four consecutive Presidential election would not augur well for your reputation. It is in your best interest to assume your position as an elder statesman and allow others to serve. Nigeria does not belong to you alone. It belongs to us all.

I have not hidden my dislike for Mallam Sanusi Lamido's style of leadership and pursuit of power at all cost,this time is not different.
I am also aware that some youths in Nigeria see's him as a role model,but i wonder. What role of Sanusi is
worth modeling? other than the role of truth distorting,fact twisting,reality confusing,Goldy misrepresenting,history
diverting,pride, shoulder Highness,insincerity and hidden agenda.
Their is no doubt that Every man has a wrong side,this i believe is why the great philosophy said,No man is perfect including myself. Since Every one is prone to error, it would be unjust to condemn someone based on some errors he committed,which is why we must differentiate between error and intentional deceit.
An error is a deviation from accuracy or correctness; a mistake, as in action or speech. it could also be defined as a wrong doing of someone which he did unintentionally.
If such error is realized,the person in questions would be willing to apologize for it and make correction if possible.
Deceit is the act or practice of deceiving ; concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading; duplicity; fraud or cheating.
An intentional deceit is a planned action which is aimed to deceive others to achieve a desired end goal. This action would be achieved by intentionally misinforming others so as to shift their attention away from the hidden motive.
This write up is not talking about the errors of our dearest CBN governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido,but the deceit.
WHO IS A ROLE MODEL?
Let me start by defining a role model,according to wikipedia, The term role model generally means any "person who serves as an example, whose behavior is emulated by others", and According to the dictionary refernece.com,role model is a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people.
But according to wikihow,Role models are important. They help us become the person we want to be and inspire us to make a difference. Choosing wisely means that you are influenced correctly and will help you be the best person you can be. Please take note of this particular definition.
In other definition of a model,it was defined as a person or thing seen as an excellent example of a quality which is why i ask, Is Sanusi Lamido an example of a quality and truthful leader to be emulated? which would inspire we the young people to be what we want to be?
This brings me to the question, what do we, the young people of Nigeria want to be or achieve for our country? Do we wish to achieve through political desperation, the sectionalism of our region?, the tribalism of our heroes?,hypocrisy of our leaders?, or the sentiments of our fathers?.
As for me, i want to bring positive change and Transformation devoid of the sentiments of tribe,religion and region.
On several occasions,I have expressed my displeasure with some of the actions of our leaders without fear of being castigated by their hardened followers,who not only consider everything they do as good and worthy of emulation but always defend their actions no matter how bad it is,and also do attack and condemned anyone with a different view.
Before i proceed,I wish to categorically state that the aim of this writeup is not to discredit some of the good work of Mallam Sanusi Lamidu or tarnish his image as a person,but to air my view of his leadership style and pursuit and to point my fellow youths to a positive direction through carefully selecting a model and also having a limitation in supporting and copying, when some thing goes wrong with our choice of models.
Like i used to say,I am not a follower of any leader but just a supporter. I support what you present when i consider it
good and against it when i consider it bad. it is not about you as a person but what you present at a certain time. A
follower may follow his adored model till death or pit,but as a supporter,i have limitation.
Sanusi Lamido is no doubt an intelligent man who may have positively contributed in one way or the other to the banking
sector,i can't but appreciate him for his intelligence and effort toward repositioning the Nigerian Banking sector. But despite that,I consider him a power monger who desire power at all cost,which explain his actions so far as the Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria.
Please,Permit me to start from Mallam Sanusi's national Controversial life which affects not just those in the banking sector,but the country at large. The introduction and promotion of Islamic Banking.
I understand that Islamic banking is based on Islamic Sha’riah Law which provides all solutions to financial problems, so should every Nigerian. We all should understand that Islamic banking is not here to damage our financial institution, but rather aimed to fix the existing damages. According to Islamic law, interest is totally prohibited in Islam because interest has lot of bad effects on the society such as their earning capacity, purchasing power and increase poverty, unequal distribution of wealth and credit crisis in an economy. According to Usmani (2005), the main drawback in interest based system is financier has no concern with money when he gives an interest bearing loan to a client. But in Islamic financial contract cash money is not given to client, first of all they purchase the commodity and transfer to client then all profit and loss will be distributed between parties according to agreed terms and conditions (Usmani, 2005). Despite this, it does not mean that Muslims cannot always deal in the normal banking system as their is different opinion from various scholars about interest. I am aware that Islamic Bank (Jaiz bank) was first introduced to Nigeria without question in 2003, which means that when it goes through the right process,it was never criticized or condemned by anyone. This can be confirmed by mere typing jaiz bank 2003 on Google.com.
what happened to the first Islamic bank in Nigeria which started in 2003?
How is the same Jaiz bank which had received the permission to start operation in 2003 suddenly became a new bank enjoying the promotion of the same CBN in 2011?
Ordinarily as a Muslim,i should support the Islamic Banking considering the fact that my religion discouraged us from the
Interest based banking and this is exactly what the Islamic bank is all about. But i also know that the Christian Religion
also discouraged Christians from Interest based banking, which automatically put both religion on the same page as far as the sermon of the None Interest banking is concerned.
Listening to the promotion of Islamic Banking introduced by Mallam Sanusi Lamido,the loudest part of it, is the fact that Islamic banking is happening all over the world including USA and UK. So i ask, why should Islamic Banking be practiced in Nigeria because it's being practiced in USA or Uk? Just last year,The National Assembly made a law banning same sex against all the pressure from the Western World like USA and Uk,since same sex is being practiced in their country as a human right that should not be denied, they pressured and vowed to sanction Nigeria if we go ahead with the law,but because we consider it not good for our society,we said no to it. This is to explain that Islamic Banking should not be promoted based on it being practiced in other countries.
Also,Mallam Sanusi Lamido admitted that he didn't initiate the idea of Non Interest Banking,which means that his predecessor,Charles Soludo had already been working on it before him,but he didn't tell us if Charles Soludo made any noise about it or named it None Interest Banking or Islamic Banking. That aspect was intentionally not clarified.
Since both Christianity and Islam embraced the Non Interest banking, why the choice of Islamic banking as a name? of course, it has a reason.
From my understanding,the first Official None interest Banking in the world was first experimented in Egypt,an Islamic state. which is why other countries practicing it retained the name,but if we feel the banking system is good for us and the name is just the problem due to the religious tension in the country,it is meaningful in my opinion to adopt another neutral name such as, Religious Banking or just None Interest banking which would give everyone security to participate in the it without fear or sentiments,but Mallam Sanusi Lamido hold on to the name Islamic banking for a reason.
Point of note: Every one is in support of Non Interest Banking,the name Islamic banking is just the concern. A leader who truly want a national progress and convenience for the people would never bother himself with just a name,but Mallam Sanisu insisted for a reason.
It was during the debate of Islamic banking that the Boko haram Sect started it's bombing around the north east region,we thank God that the Islamic banking have not been commissioned to start operation before that period,if the Islamic banking had been forced on those who consider it a way of Islamizing Nigeria,it would be difficult to say the new Islamic banking is not responsible for the funding of the Boko Harma Sect to complete the Islamization of Nigeria, which would result in serious crisis beyond what we have right now.
If the name of the bank is just a religious bank or Non Interest bank, do you think such accusation would be leveled against the bank without any proper linkage? Despite knowing what this simple name could cause,Mallam Sanusi went ahead with it without minding what may happen even when their is other better and easy way to do it.
Some people may claim labeling the Islamic bank a sponsor of such organization if it had started before Boko Haram begin
their activities would amount to hate on the Islamic religion,but i ask such people,have you ever seen the kind of Boko Haram terror in Nigeria? it would be easy and physically connecting to say that the new Islamic banking made it possible.
For example,If armed robbers robbed a house and went along with another man's id card,upon completing the robbery,they dropped the id card of this innocent man on the floor of where they robbed and the Police came for
inspection after the robbery and found this innocent man's id card,who do you think is the robbery suspect? The owner of the Id card of course.
In this case,Islam is the Innocent man and those robbers are the people hiding under it for their selfish reasons. Even though the innocent man, (Islam) is clean,he became the number one to receive the blame and punishment.
Why did sanusi Lamido Insisted on Islamic banking when other names may be better for peace and progress?
Only one reason may be responsible for this action. He wants to position himself before the Nigerian Muslims especially the north to rape our heart through religion, as someone that is worth supporting and loved for promoting Islamic ideas.
This would place him in a better position to gain support and be considered for elective office when he stands as a
candidate for governor,president or any other position in the future.
Many may think otherwise,but the truth is,The Islamic banking is never for any purpose other than that in my
opinion. He made a tactical loss to Nigeria to gain a strategic victory in the heart of the million of Muslims and northerners.
Religion is said to be used to rape human heart,this is exactly what i consider happened in the case of Sanusi and the
Islamic banking. The main concern of this man is not to promote Islam or make Nigerians enjoy the None interest banking,but to place himself in a better position for electoral victory.
To understand me better,Permit me to take you to Zamfara State where the shariah Law is being practiced.
Shariah law is no doubt a system of government that protect Human right and equity,In fact,It is the best form of government that can be practiced to prosperity. Though,this system is being misunderstood.
For example,It is true that for stealing under the shariah law government,the hand of the culprit shall be cut off. But who is a thief under shariah law? A thief is not someone who steals because he his hungry or because he his in need badly,It is some one who steals out of greed and for luxury. If someone is caught stealing under shariah law,he would be investigated to know why he steals,if it is because he his hungry,shariah said such person must be given enough food so he could not steal again. But if he steals out of greed just like some of our politician and others,It is people like that whose hand shall be cut off,just like people calling for death penalty as the punishment for corruption. Don't you see that the Shariah law is not bad as it seems?
Today,after shariah law was deceitfully introduced to zamfara and practiced in hypocritical manner,Sharia law is seen as bad before the people as a result of the activities of some Muslims,they give Islam bad image. The Zamfara state
governor(Yerima) who introduced Shariah according to Wole Soyinka in the publication,the next phase of boko haram said,He had to use it to make the governorship position. In professor Wole Soyinka's word (Why do I use Yerima? Because in him, you also encounter the fusion of a credo in Northern ism and at the same time in Islamism. So you can see somebody like him as an opportunist. And I say this, you know, because he himself admitted to some of our people in NALICON during the immediate post-Abacha era, when he was asked why he decided to turn Zamfara into a theocratic state in a secular dispensation. He said, and I dare him to deny it, that it was the only weapon he had to snatch power. He said the PDP machinery was so strong that he needed something which would appeal to raw emotions, to mobilise and get the governorship.) He made the governorship and left Islam with bad Image of his wrong doing. This i believe is what the Islamic banking is all about.
Furthermore,going around the world where Islamic Banking made success,the majority of its success can be attributed to the acceptability by the people. Islamic banking made success because it was peacefully introduced with education and manners,if it was forcefully introduced like the case of mallam Sanusi,we would probably not heard of any success of the Islamic Banking.
How do we expect the sanusi's version of Islamic banking to make the required impact in Nigeria when it was not introduced with the most sincere intention? The bank would be perceived never with confidence or trust,but Constant suspicion which would affect its operation. Would it make the required impact?
The Islamic banking not just divided Nigeria along religious line,but placed the unity of this beautiful entity on constant
question.
It has been said that the Islamic banking is for everybody both christians and Muslims,But how many of the Muslims asking Christians to participate in Islamic banking would participate in a christian Banking? yet they want Christians to accept what they themselves can not accept without following the teaching of prophet Mohammed (SAW) which says: never do to others,what you can not accept.
If this Islamic Banking stays as it has,The Christians have promised to start Christian banking and i can't blame anyone for it, other than Sanusi. Some may say that is not a problem, but of course it just divided us. I am sure if the Christianity Banking is what came first,it would generate as much controversy as the Islamic banking did and the operation of both banks would not only bring religious competition but the challenges that would follow may be had to control.
How is this Islamic Bank different?
Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab is said to be the chairman of the Islamic bank and others,the same people who had been operating the commercial banks. The same people who had milked the several banks through deals and interest.The chairman Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab was described by The Times in 2009 as being "one of the richest men in Africa and by The New York Times as "among Nigeria’s richest and most prominent men. where did he made all those money other than through loans, interest and deals from the banks he chaired? How different would he run the Islamic bank? SANUSI LAMIDO, A BAD MODEL. PART 1
I have not hidden my dislike for Mallam Sanusi Lamido's style of leadership and pursuit of power at all cost,this time is not different.
I am also aware that some youths in Nigeria see's him as a role model,but i wonder. What role of Sanusi is
worth modeling? other than the role of truth distorting,fact twisting,reality confusing,Goldy misrepresenting,history
diverting,pride, shoulder Highness,insincerity and hidden agenda.
Their is no doubt that Every man has a wrong side,this i believe is why the great philosophy said,No man is perfect including myself. Since Every one is prone to error, it would be unjust to condemn someone based on some errors he committed,which is why we must differentiate between error and intentional deceit.
An error is a deviation from accuracy or correctness; a mistake, as in action or speech. it could also be defined as a wrong doing of someone which he did unintentionally.
If such error is realized,the person in questions would be willing to apologize for it and make correction if possible.
Deceit is the act or practice of deceiving ; concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading; duplicity; fraud or cheating.
An intentional deceit is a planned action which is aimed to deceive others to achieve a desired end goal. This action would be achieved by intentionally misinforming others so as to shift their attention away from the hidden motive.
This write up is not talking about the errors of our dearest CBN governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido,but the deceit.
WHO IS A ROLE MODEL?
Let me start by defining a role model,according to wikipedia, The term role model generally means any "person who serves as an example, whose behavior is emulated by others", and According to the dictionary refernece.com,role model is a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people.
But according to wikihow,Role models are important. They help us become the person we want to be and inspire us to make a difference. Choosing wisely means that you are influenced correctly and will help you be the best person you can be. Please take note of this particular definition.
In other definition of a model,it was defined as a person or thing seen as an excellent example of a quality which is why i ask, Is Sanusi Lamido an example of a quality and truthful leader to be emulated? which would inspire we the young people to be what we want to be?
This brings me to the question, what do we, the young people of Nigeria want to be or achieve for our country? Do we wish to achieve through political desperation, the sectionalism of our region?, the tribalism of our heroes?,hypocrisy of our leaders?, or the sentiments of our fathers?.
As for me, i want to bring positive change and Transformation devoid of the sentiments of tribe,religion and region.
On several occasions,I have expressed my displeasure with some of the actions of our leaders without fear of being castigated by their hardened followers,who not only consider everything they do as good and worthy of emulation but always defend their actions no matter how bad it is,and also do attack and condemned anyone with a different view.
Before i proceed,I wish to categorically state that the aim of this writeup is not to discredit some of the good work of Mallam Sanusi Lamidu or tarnish his image as a person,but to air my view of his leadership style and pursuit and to point my fellow youths to a positive direction through carefully selecting a model and also having a limitation in supporting and copying, when some thing goes wrong with our choice of models.
Like i used to say,I am not a follower of any leader but just a supporter. I support what you present when i consider it
good and against it when i consider it bad. it is not about you as a person but what you present at a certain time. A
follower may follow his adored model till death or pit,but as a supporter,i have limitation.
Sanusi Lamido is no doubt an intelligent man who may have positively contributed in one way or the other to the bankingsector,i can't but appreciate him for his intelligence and effort toward repositioning the Nigerian Banking sector. But despite that,I consider him a power monger who desire power at all cost,which explain his actions so far as the Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria.
Please,Permit me to start from Mallam Sanusi's national Controversial life which affects not just those in the banking sector,but the country at large. The introduction and promotion of Islamic Banking.
I understand that Islamic banking is based on Islamic Sha’riah Law which provides all solutions to financial problems, so should every Nigerian. We all should understand that Islamic banking is not here to damage our financial institution, but rather aimed to fix the existing damages. According to Islamic law, interest is totally prohibited in Islam because interest has lot of bad effects on the society such as their earning capacity, purchasing power and increase poverty, unequal distribution of wealth and credit crisis in an economy. According to Usmani (2005), the main drawback in interest based system is financier has no concern with money when he gives an interest bearing loan to a client. But in Islamic financial contract cash money is not given to client, first of all they purchase the commodity and transfer to client then all profit and loss will be distributed between parties according to agreed terms and conditions (Usmani, 2005). Despite this, it does not mean that Muslims cannot always deal in the normal banking system as their is different opinion from various scholars about interest. I am aware that Islamic Bank (Jaiz bank) was first introduced to Nigeria without question in 2003, which means that when it goes through the right process,it was never criticized or condemned by anyone. This can be confirmed by mere typing jaiz bank 2003 on Google.com.
what happened to the first Islamic bank in Nigeria which started in 2003?
How is the same Jaiz bank which had received the permission to start operation in 2003 suddenly became a new bank enjoying the promotion of the same CBN in 2011?
Ordinarily as a Muslim,i should support the Islamic Banking considering the fact that my religion discouraged us from the
Interest based banking and this is exactly what the Islamic bank is all about. But i also know that the Christian Religion
also discouraged Christians from Interest based banking, which automatically put both religion on the same page as far as the sermon of the None Interest banking is concerned.
Listening to the promotion of Islamic Banking introduced by Mallam Sanusi Lamido,the loudest part of it, is the fact that Islamic banking is happening all over the world including USA and UK. So i ask, why should Islamic Banking be practiced in Nigeria because it's being practiced in USA or Uk? Just last year,The National Assembly made a law banning same sex against all the pressure from the Western World like USA and Uk,since same sex is being practiced in their country as a human right that should not be denied, they pressured and vowed to sanction Nigeria if we go ahead with the law,but because we consider it not good for our society,we said no to it. This is to explain that Islamic Banking should not be promoted based on it being practiced in other countries.
Also,Mallam Sanusi Lamido admitted that he didn't initiate the idea of Non Interest Banking,which means that his predecessor,Charles Soludo had already been working on it before him,but he didn't tell us if Charles Soludo made any noise about it or named it None Interest Banking or Islamic Banking. That aspect was intentionally not clarified.
Since both Christianity and Islam embraced the Non Interest banking, why the choice of Islamic banking as a name? of course, it has a reason.
From my understanding,the first Official None interest Banking in the world was first experimented in Egypt,an Islamic state. which is why other countries practicing it retained the name,but if we feel the banking system is good for us and the name is just the problem due to the religious tension in the country,it is meaningful in my opinion to adopt another neutral name such as, Religious Banking or just None Interest banking which would give everyone security to participate in the it without fear or sentiments,but Mallam Sanusi Lamido hold on to the name Islamic banking for a reason.
Point of note: Every one is in support of Non Interest Banking,the name Islamic banking is just the concern. A leader who truly want a national progress and convenience for the people would never bother himself with just a name,but Mallam Sanisu insisted for a reason.
It was during the debate of Islamic banking that the Boko haram Sect started it's bombing around the north east region,we thank God that the Islamic banking have not been commissioned to start operation before that period,if the Islamic banking had been forced on those who consider it a way of Islamizing Nigeria,it would be difficult to say the new Islamic banking is not responsible for the funding of the Boko Harma Sect to complete the Islamization of Nigeria, which would result in serious crisis beyond what we have right now.
If the name of the bank is just a religious bank or Non Interest bank, do you think such accusation would be leveled against the bank without any proper linkage? Despite knowing what this simple name could cause,Mallam Sanusi went ahead with it without minding what may happen even when their is other better and easy way to do it.
Some people may claim labeling the Islamic bank a sponsor of such organization if it had started before Boko Haram begin
their activities would amount to hate on the Islamic religion,but i ask such people,have you ever seen the kind of Boko Haram terror in Nigeria? it would be easy and physically connecting to say that the new Islamic banking made it possible.
For example,If armed robbers robbed a house and went along with another man's id card,upon completing the robbery,they dropped the id card of this innocent man on the floor of where they robbed and the Police came for
inspection after the robbery and found this innocent man's id card,who do you think is the robbery suspect? The owner of the Id card of course.
In this case,Islam is the Innocent man and those robbers are the people hiding under it for their selfish reasons. Even though the innocent man, (Islam) is clean,he became the number one to receive the blame and punishment.
Why did sanusi Lamido Insisted on Islamic banking when other names may be better for peace and progress?
Only one reason may be responsible for this action. He wants to position himself before the Nigerian Muslims especially the north to rape our heart through religion, as someone that is worth supporting and loved for promoting Islamic ideas.
This would place him in a better position to gain support and be considered for elective office when he stands as a
candidate for governor,president or any other position in the future.
Many may think otherwise,but the truth is,The Islamic banking is never for any purpose other than that in my
opinion. He made a tactical loss to Nigeria to gain a strategic victory in the heart of the million of Muslims and northerners.
Religion is said to be used to rape human heart,this is exactly what i consider happened in the case of Sanusi and the
Islamic banking. The main concern of this man is not to promote Islam or make Nigerians enjoy the None interest banking,but to place himself in a better position for electoral victory.
To understand me better,Permit me to take you to Zamfara State where the shariah Law is being practiced.
Shariah law is no doubt a system of government that protect Human right and equity,In fact,It is the best form of government that can be practiced to prosperity. Though,this system is being misunderstood.
For example,It is true that for stealing under the shariah law government,the hand of the culprit shall be cut off. But who is a thief under shariah law? A thief is not someone who steals because he his hungry or because he his in need badly,It is some one who steals out of greed and for luxury. If someone is caught stealing under shariah law,he would be investigated to know why he steals,if it is because he his hungry,shariah said such person must be given enough food so he could not steal again. But if he steals out of greed just like some of our politician and others,It is people like that whose hand shall be cut off,just like people calling for death penalty as the punishment for corruption. Don't you see that the Shariah law is not bad as it seems?
Today,after shariah law was deceitfully introduced to zamfara and practiced in hypocritical manner,Sharia law is seen as bad before the people as a result of the activities of some Muslims,they give Islam bad image. The Zamfara state
governor(Yerima) who introduced Shariah according to Wole Soyinka in the publication,the next phase of boko haram said,He had to use it to make the governorship position. In professor Wole Soyinka's word (Why do I use Yerima? Because in him, you also encounter the fusion of a credo in Northern ism and at the same time in Islamism. So you can see somebody like him as an opportunist. And I say this, you know, because he himself admitted to some of our people in NALICON during the immediate post-Abacha era, when he was asked why he decided to turn Zamfara into a theocratic state in a secular dispensation. He said, and I dare him to deny it, that it was the only weapon he had to snatch power. He said the PDP machinery was so strong that he needed something which would appeal to raw emotions, to mobilise and get the governorship.) He made the governorship and left Islam with bad Image of his wrong doing. This i believe is what the Islamic banking is all about.
Furthermore,going around the world where Islamic Banking made success,the majority of its success can be attributed to the acceptability by the people. Islamic banking made success because it was peacefully introduced with education and manners,if it was forcefully introduced like the case of mallam Sanusi,we would probably not heard of any success of the Islamic Banking.
How do we expect the sanusi's version of Islamic banking to make the required impact in Nigeria when it was not introduced with the most sincere intention? The bank would be perceived never with confidence or trust,but Constant suspicion which would affect its operation. Would it make the required impact?
The Islamic banking not just divided Nigeria along religious line,but placed the unity of this beautiful entity on constant
question.
It has been said that the Islamic banking is for everybody both christians and Muslims,But how many of the Muslims asking Christians to participate in Islamic banking would participate in a christian Banking? yet they want Christians to accept what they themselves can not accept without following the teaching of prophet Mohammed (SAW) which says: never do to others,what you can not accept.
If this Islamic Banking stays as it has,The Christians have promised to start Christian banking and i can't blame anyone for it, other than Sanusi. Some may say that is not a problem, but of course it just divided us. I am sure if the Christianity Banking is what came first,it would generate as much controversy as the Islamic banking did and the operation of both banks would not only bring religious competition but the challenges that would follow may be had to control.
How is this Islamic Bank different?
Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab is said to be the chairman of the Islamic bank and others,the same people who had been operating the commercial banks. The same people who had milked the several banks through deals and interest.The chairman Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab was described by The Times in 2009 as being "one of the richest men in Africa and by The New York Times as "among Nigeria’s richest and most prominent men. where did he made all those money other than through loans, interest and deals from the banks he chaired? How different would he run the Islamic bank? My dad,not ACN member,but a supporter who usually attribute the ACN style of leadership to the legacy of Awolowo among many others condemned me as enemy of progress. But i am so surprise last week to see him after returning from Osogbo where he his based to call me and say, Abdul,you were actually right all this long.

ISLAM,THE RELIGION OF PEACE
Before i proceed with this article,I would like to say that (Respect for other religion is a way to paradise). Take it or leave it.
I came to this understand from the Prophet (S.A.W).
When i was a boy,i usually go to Islamic school in Kano at a very tender age,Allah gave me religious understanding.This qualifies me to join the elders in learning.In the elders class,they teach them so many things and also dialogue with the teacher for better understanding, unlike the children who usually read with little or no dialogue with the teacher.
One faithful day,I was at the elders class receiving study sermon,the teacher told us about the story of an idolater during the time of the prophet (S.A.W),this idolater is an elderly man,but all effort to make him accept Islam fail. One day,The prophet of God,(S.A.W) dream and see this man in the paradise,the prophet wondered how the man got there when it was clear he didn't accept Islam and Allah gave him story of the mans journey to the paradise.
The man didn't accept Islam but yet, he has respect for the religion and the people in it. He respect the religious teaching and practices. One day during the month of Ramadan (fasting Period),he came home and saw his son eating outside,he quarreled with his son, saying why are you eating outside? the son replied that i am hungry.the man angrily asked again,why must you bring the food out side,don't you know some people are fasting to their lord? they are starving not because they have no food,but because they are obeying their lord.The boy said but i am not part of them, why must i be concern with them. This man got angry and started betting his son. During this period,the man fell down and died in the process. The Almighty Allah, reveled to the prophet that,that single action by this man is what qualifies him to be in paradise.
The truth is that peace in Islam is the ‘rule’, while war is the ‘exception’. This is borne out by all the teachings of Islam and the practical life of the Prophet of Islam.
One of the attributes of God described in the Quran is ‘As-Salam’, which means peace and security.’ That is to say that God’s Being itself is a manifestation of peace. Indeed, God is Peace (Al-Bukhari). In the Quran divine guidance is likened to the paths of peace. (5:16)The Quran, avers that, ‘reconciliation is best’ (4:128), and judging by the consequences, the way of peace is far better than that of confrontation.Whenever the Prophet had an option between two courses of action, he always chose the easier (non-confrontational) one. (Bukhari)
This means that, violent activism should not be indulged in if peaceful activism is an option. For, peace is the easier course as compared to violence.
For instance, trying to change the status quo in the very first stage of a movement is a hard option, while launching one’s activities in the available sphere without doing so is an easier option.Going to war in confrontational situations is a hard option while following a conciliatory course in dealing with one’s rival is easier. Countering aggression with aggression is a hard option, while countering aggression with patience and forbearance is an easier option. An agitational course of action is harder than employing quiet strategy. Adopting a radical method of reformation is harder than that of following a gradual method. Taking emotional, extreme steps without a thought for their consequences creates difficulties. While a well-considered method, keeping an eye on the consequences, gives much better results. The policy of confrontation with a ruler is a harder option, while initiating one’s action; by sidestepping the ruler in the sphere of education and learning is an easier option. These instances show us the easier and harder options, as demonstrated by the Hadith.
The Example of the Prophet Muhammad
The Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation in 610 A.D. in Makkah. God ordained that he carry out the mission of Tawheed (or oneness of God).
The house of the Kabah, which was built as the house of monotheism by the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael (peace be upon them), later on became a centre of polytheism with 360 idols in it. The first revelation might well have demanded the purification of the Kabah, which would have given rise to a serious problem. But the first revelation made in the Quran was:
Purify your vestments (74:4).
This means to purify one’s moral character. If, in the first stage the Prophet had been commanded to purify the Kabah while Makkah was still under the domination of the idolaters, this would have surely precipitated clash and confrontation. Therefore, according to the command of the first revelation, the Prophet continued to perform his prayers peacefully in the Kabah for a period of 13 years, even though it housed several hundred idols.
Similarly, the Prophet and his companions circumambulated the Kabah on the occasion of Umrah al-Hudaybiyya in 629, while the Kabah still housed 360 idols.

The Prophet Muhammad proceeded thus in order to avoid war and confrontation with the idolaters, and so that the atmosphere of peace should be maintained. The entire life of the Prophet is a practical demonstration of this peace-loving policy. At the time of migration from Makkah, the idolaters were all set to wage war, but the Prophet avoided this by quietly leaving his homeland for Madinah.
The mission of Islam is based on monotheism, its goal being to make people realize the existence of the one and only God and to strive to bring about a revolution in their hearts and minds of individuals in order that they may love God as is His due. And the greatest concern of man should be to fear and worship his Creator (2:165).
Such a mission cannot afford wars and violent confrontations. When a state of war and violence prevails, the normal atmosphere is vitiated and such circumstances as would foster intellectual movements and spiritual reformation cannot be effectively created. It cannot be denied that peaceful circumstances produce a propitious environment for Islam, while violent circumstances inevitably result in antagonism towards Islam.
War: A State Action
In Islam, war is not the prerogative of the individual but of an established government. Only an established government can declare war. In other words, individuals can pray on their own, but they cannot wage wars of their own accord. Only when a war is declared by the ruling government, can the public join in and support it, and not before that. Islam does not sanction individual actions on this issue. Therefore no Non Governmental Organization or NGO can declare a war.
As a general principle, the Quran tells us that, even where an external attack is feared, the common man should not act independently, but should take the matter to the ruler, and then under his guidance take proper counter measures. (4:83).
The Hadith also states that ‘the ruler is a shield, fighting is done under him, and security is attained through him.’
This clearly shows that the decision to do battle and its planning are the tasks of an established government. The common man can play his role as need be under government orders, and not independently.
This Islamic principle shows that there is no room for non-state warfare, which is what we generally call guerilla war. A guerilla war is fought by individual organizations, not by the State. As far as the state is concerned, if it wants to wage a defensive war against any country it has first—in obedience to the Quran—to issue a proper declaration. Only then can it wage a lawful war (8:58). In Islam, there is only ‘declared’ war. Therefore, in accordance with this principle, no proxy war in Islam can be lawful.
Most Islamic actions are governed by certain conditions. The waging of war is also thus subject to certain principles, one being that, even when a defensive war has been declared by the State, it will be aimed only at the combatants. Targeting non-combatants will be unlawful. The Quran enjoins us not to do battle with those who are not at war. Such people have to be dealt with kindly and equitably. But you are free to do battle with those who are fighting against you. (60:8-9)
If, for instance, a Muslim state is at war with a particular nation, and this war is in conformance with Islamic principles, it should still not permit any destructive activities against non-combatants (civilians), as was done on September 11, 2001, in New York and Washington. Similarly in Islamic war, Muslims are not permitted to commit suicidal bombings in order to destroy the enemy. Strapping explosives on to oneself and hurling oneself upon the civilian settlements of even those with whom one is at war, for the purpose of destroying the enemy, and in the process killing oneself deliberately, is totally un-Islamic. This can in no way be termed ‘Shahadah’ (martyrdom). According to Islam we can become martyrs, but we cannot court a martyr’s death deliberately.
The Difference between Enemy and Aggressor
Under the scheme of the divine trial of human beings, God has granted man freedom. Due to this freedom, enmities may develop between people (20:123), which sometimes lead them to war. But Islam makes a clear difference between enmity and war.
Believers do not have the right to wage wars against their enemies. What the believers have to do as regards their enemies is far from waging war. Their duty is to peacefully convey to them the message of Islam. The Quran gives a clear injunction on this subject:
“And good and evil deeds are not alike. Repel evil with good. And he who is your enemy will become your dearest friend.” (41:33-34)
That is to say, Islam believes in turning one’s enemy into a friend through peaceful means, instead of declaring him an enemy and then waging war against him.
Islam does give permission to do battle. But such permission is given only in the case of an attack by opponents in spite of the policy of avoidance being followed by the Muslims, thus creating a situation where self-defense is required. The Quran has this to say: “Permission to take up arms is hereby given to those who are attacked because they have been wronged” (22:38). At another place the Quran gives a valid reason for fighting: And Allah summons to the abode of peace, and leads whom He wills to the straight path.-- (Al-Quran 10:25) Privileging peace and nonviolence as desirable values with intrinsic and not instrumental worth inevitably leads to the politics of status quo. If existing power regimes and ruling coalitions are not willing to relinquish power even in the face of popular opposition like in Algeria, then privileging of peace and stability becomes a defense of status quo even in the absence of legitimacy. However, the need for change should not be taken as a license to resort to violence in the face of political frustration.If peace and nonviolence are to be conceived as instrumental values then there must be clearly identifiable values whose intrinsic worth must be more than that of peace. It is only when such values are identified that peace can be compromised in pursuit of these values which are more precious than peace itself. I wonder how many would challenge my contention that justice, equality and freedom are values more valuable than peace? I am not willing to give up my freedom or allow myself to be treated as an inferior or be treated unjustly without a fight. Can we demand people to give up their rights, freedom and accept injustices in the interest of maintaining peace?

Before i proceed with this article,I would like to say that (Respect for other religion is a way to paradise). Take it or leave it.
I came to this understand from the Prophet (S.A.W).
When i was a boy,i usually go to Islamic school in Kano at a very tender age,Allah gave me religious understanding.This qualifies me to join the elders in learning.In the elders class,they teach them so many things and also dialogue with the teacher for better understanding, unlike the children who usually read with little or no dialogue with the teacher.
One faithful day,I was at the elders class receiving study sermon,the teacher told us about the story of an idolater during the time of the prophet (S.A.W),this idolater is an elderly man,but all effort to make him accept Islam fail. One day,The prophet of God,(S.A.W) dream and see this man in the paradise,the prophet wondered how the man got there when it was clear he didn't accept Islam and Allah gave him story of the mans journey to the paradise.
The man didn't accept Islam but yet, he has respect for the religion and the people in it. He respect the religious teaching and practices. One day during the month of Ramadan (fasting Period),he came home and saw his son eating outside,he quarreled with his son, saying why are you eating outside? the son replied that i am hungry.the man angrily asked again,why must you bring the food out side,don't you know some people are fasting to their lord? they are starving not because they have no food,but because they are obeying their lord.The boy said but i am not part of them, why must i be concern with them. This man got angry and started betting his son. During this period,the man fell down and died in the process. The Almighty Allah, reveled to the prophet that,that single action by this man is what qualifies him to be in paradise.
The truth is that peace in Islam is the ‘rule’, while war is the ‘exception’. This is borne out by all the teachings of Islam and the practical life of the Prophet of Islam.
One of the attributes of God described in the Quran is ‘As-Salam’, which means peace and security.’ That is to say that God’s Being itself is a manifestation of peace. Indeed, God is Peace (Al-Bukhari). In the Quran divine guidance is likened to the paths of peace. (5:16)The Quran, avers that, ‘reconciliation is best’ (4:128), and judging by the consequences, the way of peace is far better than that of confrontation.Whenever the Prophet had an option between two courses of action, he always chose the easier (non-confrontational) one. (Bukhari)
This means that, violent activism should not be indulged in if peaceful activism is an option. For, peace is the easier course as compared to violence.
For instance, trying to change the status quo in the very first stage of a movement is a hard option, while launching one’s activities in the available sphere without doing so is an easier option.Going to war in confrontational situations is a hard option while following a conciliatory course in dealing with one’s rival is easier. Countering aggression with aggression is a hard option, while countering aggression with patience and forbearance is an easier option. An agitational course of action is harder than employing quiet strategy. Adopting a radical method of reformation is harder than that of following a gradual method. Taking emotional, extreme steps without a thought for their consequences creates difficulties. While a well-considered method, keeping an eye on the consequences, gives much better results. The policy of confrontation with a ruler is a harder option, while initiating one’s action; by sidestepping the ruler in the sphere of education and learning is an easier option. These instances show us the easier and harder options, as demonstrated by the Hadith.
The Example of the Prophet Muhammad
The Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation in 610 A.D. in Makkah. God ordained that he carry out the mission of Tawheed (or oneness of God).
The house of the Kabah, which was built as the house of monotheism by the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael (peace be upon them), later on became a centre of polytheism with 360 idols in it. The first revelation might well have demanded the purification of the Kabah, which would have given rise to a serious problem. But the first revelation made in the Quran was:
Purify your vestments (74:4).
This means to purify one’s moral character. If, in the first stage the Prophet had been commanded to purify the Kabah while Makkah was still under the domination of the idolaters, this would have surely precipitated clash and confrontation. Therefore, according to the command of the first revelation, the Prophet continued to perform his prayers peacefully in the Kabah for a period of 13 years, even though it housed several hundred idols.
Similarly, the Prophet and his companions circumambulated the Kabah on the occasion of Umrah al-Hudaybiyya in 629, while the Kabah still housed 360 idols.

The Prophet Muhammad proceeded thus in order to avoid war and confrontation with the idolaters, and so that the atmosphere of peace should be maintained. The entire life of the Prophet is a practical demonstration of this peace-loving policy. At the time of migration from Makkah, the idolaters were all set to wage war, but the Prophet avoided this by quietly leaving his homeland for Madinah.
The mission of Islam is based on monotheism, its goal being to make people realize the existence of the one and only God and to strive to bring about a revolution in their hearts and minds of individuals in order that they may love God as is His due. And the greatest concern of man should be to fear and worship his Creator (2:165).
Such a mission cannot afford wars and violent confrontations. When a state of war and violence prevails, the normal atmosphere is vitiated and such circumstances as would foster intellectual movements and spiritual reformation cannot be effectively created. It cannot be denied that peaceful circumstances produce a propitious environment for Islam, while violent circumstances inevitably result in antagonism towards Islam.
War: A State Action
In Islam, war is not the prerogative of the individual but of an established government. Only an established government can declare war. In other words, individuals can pray on their own, but they cannot wage wars of their own accord. Only when a war is declared by the ruling government, can the public join in and support it, and not before that. Islam does not sanction individual actions on this issue. Therefore no Non Governmental Organization or NGO can declare a war.
As a general principle, the Quran tells us that, even where an external attack is feared, the common man should not act independently, but should take the matter to the ruler, and then under his guidance take proper counter measures. (4:83).
The Hadith also states that ‘the ruler is a shield, fighting is done under him, and security is attained through him.’
This clearly shows that the decision to do battle and its planning are the tasks of an established government. The common man can play his role as need be under government orders, and not independently.
This Islamic principle shows that there is no room for non-state warfare, which is what we generally call guerilla war. A guerilla war is fought by individual organizations, not by the State. As far as the state is concerned, if it wants to wage a defensive war against any country it has first—in obedience to the Quran—to issue a proper declaration. Only then can it wage a lawful war (8:58). In Islam, there is only ‘declared’ war. Therefore, in accordance with this principle, no proxy war in Islam can be lawful.
Most Islamic actions are governed by certain conditions. The waging of war is also thus subject to certain principles, one being that, even when a defensive war has been declared by the State, it will be aimed only at the combatants. Youth participation in fixing the nation
Effective youth participation is about creating opportunities for young people to be involved in influencing, shaping, designing and contributing to policy and the development of services and programmes. These opportunities are created through developing a range of formal and informal mechanisms for youth participation from youth advisory groups to focus groups, from on-going consultation work to supporting youth-led projects. There are many reasons for including young people in decision-making.
• Youth participation means better decisions and increased efficiency
Evidence shows that policies and programmes designed after consultation with youths are more likely to be effective. By using youth participation you are more likely to get it right the first time and avoid wasting time and money on services young people don't want to use.
• Youth participation strengthens community capacity
Giving young people a place in decision-making builds a broader base of citizen involvement and creates stronger, more inclusive communities. Youth participation is necessary in the development of active citizenship because it balances young people's social rights with their responsibilities.

Research shows that young people who are supported to participate in decision-making are more likely to have increased confidence and self-belief, exercise positive career choices and have greater involvement and responsibility in the future.

LETTER TO BOKO HARAM

Assalamualaikum Waramatullahi Wabarakatu. I write in the name of Allah, The most beneficent and the most merciful.
Dear Boko Haram, I am constrained to write you, Reading through the news papers page recently regarding the issue of the bombing rocking our country Nigeria, It was reported that your organization claimed responsibility. In another report, it was reported that your sect stated your reason for embarking on this bombing mission to be the killing of your ex leader and members. It was also reported that the only condition given by your Organization for negotiation is the Adoption of Shariah Law in Nigeria.
First, I would like to start from the name of your sect, Boko Haram. Meaning education is forbidden. The stand of your sect that education is forbidden came to me as a shock, considering the impact of education in the history of Islam.
The rise of Muslims to the zenith of civilization in a period of four decades was based on lslam’s emphasis on learning. This is obvious when one takes a look at the Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad which are filled with references to learning, education, observation, and the use of reason. “Are those who have knowledge and those who have no knowledge alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful. ” (Quran, 39:9)
The Qur’an encourages people towards scientific research:”And whoso brings the truth and believes therein such are the dutiful.” (Quran, 39:33)
It was through education that we got the loud speaker we use in calling for prayers, Education produces the bricks we use in building our mosques, produces the computer and internet we use in studying Islamic writing around world while sitting at home, produces the wall clock that makes it easy to know the time for prayers, produces the aeroplane we use in making pilgrim to the holy land.
The car your members used in transporting themselves to the bombing venue, the mobile phone, the bombs and guns, even the media used in publishing your information all are products of education. These clearly show that everything your sect has been using as the impact of education (Boko) in one way or the other.
Don’t you think Boko (Education) is Halal (Lawful)?.
Saying education is forbidden is just like saying sex is forbidden, But sex can be forbidden when done unlawfully and can equally be rewarded if done lawfully.
Acquiring knowledge and skill is essential for every one living in the modern world. It is useful as well as pleasant to pursue knowledge.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
Seeking of knowledge is compulsory for every Muslim, boy or girl, man or woman.
The pursuit of knowledge and the use of reason, based on sense and bservation is made obligatory on all believers.
“The best form of worship is the pursuit of knowledge. The Islamic Empire for more than 1,000 years remained the most advanced civilization in the world. The main reasons for this was that Islam stressed the importance and respect of learning, forbade destruction, and cultivated respect for authority, discipline, and tolerance for other religions. The teachings of Qur’an and Sunnah inspired many Muslims to their accomplishments in science and medicine. By the tenth century their zeal and enthusiasms for learning resulted in all essential Greek medical and scientific writings being translated into Arabic in Damascus, Cairo, and Baghdad. Arabic became the international language of learning and diplomacy. The center of scientific knowledge and activity shifted eastward, and Baghdad emerged as the capitol of the scientific world. The Muslims became scientific innovators with originality and productivity through education.(Boko)
For example Islamic medicine is one of the most famous and best known facets of Islamic civilization in which the Muslims excelled. The Muslims were the great torchbearers of international scientific research.
Some of the best and most eloquent praises of science came from the pens of Muslim scientists who considered their work to be acts of worship. The same motives led to the establishment of Al-Azhar (800 AD) the first university in the world. They hit the “source ball of knowledge” over the fence to Europe. In the words of Campbell, “The European medical system is Arabian not only in origin but also in its structure. The Arabs are the intellectual forbearers of the Europeans.”
Further More, I would like to state here that your members were killed not because they were Boko Haram members, but because they commit an offence of murder. i.e killing of innocent people and such crime both in Shariah and the Nigerian constitution is punishable by death. If your sect had found these people guilty of any offence, it is not in your hand to take law. But despite that,I am sincerely sorry for your loss and pray that Allah forgive us all.
Lastly, About your insistence that Nigeria use the sheriah law,it is clearly stated in the Qur’an that Allah says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]
One of the fundamental truths established by the sacred texts is that no one can be compelled to accept Islam. It is the duty of Muslims to establish the proof of Islam to the people so that truth can be made clear from falsehood. After that, whoever wishes to accept Islam may do so and whoever wishes to continue upon unbelief may do so. No one should be threatened or harmed in any way if he does not wish to accept Islam.
jihad in Islamic Law can be waged for a number of reasons, but compelling people to accept Islam is simply not one of them.
The reason why jihad was first permitted in Islam was so the Muslims could defend themselves against persecution and expulsion from their homes.
Allah says: “To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged and verily Allah is Most Powerful for their aid – (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right (for no cause) except that they say, ‘Our Lord is Allah’. Did Allah not check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his cause, for truly Allah is full of strength and might.” [Sûrah al-Hajj: 39-40]
Many of the earliest scholars mention that these were the first verses of the Qur’ân that was revealed regarding jihad.
Thereafter the following verses were revealed:
“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them and drive them out from where they drove you out, for oppression is worse than killing. But fight them not at the sacred mosque unless they fight you there. But if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah. But if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 190-193]
From this point on, the scope of jihad was broadened from being purely for defense against direct attack to being inclusive of resistance against the persecution meted out by those who suppress the faith and deny people the freedom to choose their religion for themselves.
As for the spread of Islam, this is supposed to take place peacefully by disseminating the Message with the written and spoken word. There is no place for the use of weapons to compel people to accept Islam. Weapons can only be drawn against those who persecute and oppress others and prevent them from following their own consciences in matters of belief. The Muslims cannot just stand by while people are being denied the right to believe in Islam and their voices are being crushed. This is the meaning of Allah’s words: “And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 193]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in his letter to the Roman governor Heracles: “I invite you to accept Islam. If you accept Islam, you will find safety. If you accept Islam, Allah will give you a double reward. However, if you turn away, upon you will be the sin of your subjects.” {Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim}.
Even when the Muslims are compelled to fight and then, as a consequence, subdue the land, their duty thereafter is only to establish Allah’s law in the land and uphold justice for all people, Muslim and non-Muslim. It is not their right to coerce their subjects to accept Islam against their will. Non-Muslims under Muslim rule must be allowed to remain on their own faith and must be allowed to practice the rights of their faith, though they will be expected to respect the laws of the land.
Had the purpose of jihad been to force the unbelievers to accept Islam, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would never have commanded the Muslims to refrain from hostilities if the enemy relented. He would not have prohibited the killing of women and children. However, this is exactly what he did.
During a battle, the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw people gathered together. He dispatched a man to find out why they were gathered. The man returned and said: “They are gathered around a slain woman.” So Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “She should not have been attacked!” Khâlid b. al-Walîd was leading the forces, so he dispatched a man to him saying: “‘Tell Khâlid not to kill women or laborers”. [Sunan Abî Dâwûd]
Therefore, even in the heat of battle against a hostile enemy, the only people who may be attacked are those who are actually participating in the fighting not innocent people.
On this note, I strongly condemn your action of killing innocent Nigerians. As the Qur’an says: whoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew entire mankind; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept entire mankind alive; (Quran 5:32).
Kindly listen to word of Allah and seize the bombing if truly you are behind it and engage in a reasonable dialogue with the Government.
Hope to see the name of your Sect change to Boko Halal and engage Nigerians through Powerful Awareness Campaign on what you consider Haram about Boko.

The teachings of Qur’an and Sunnah inspired many Muslims to their accomplishments in science and medicine. By the tenth century their zeal and enthusiasms for learning resulted in all essential Greek medical and scientific writings being translated into Arabic in Damascus, Cairo, and Baghdad. Arabic became the international language of learning and diplomacy. The center of scientific knowledge and activity shifted eastward, and Baghdad emerged as the capitol of the scientific world. For example Islamic medicine is one of the most famous and best known facets of Islamic civilization in which the Muslims excelled. The Muslims were the great torchbearers of international scientific research.
Some of the best and most eloquent praises of science came from the pens of Muslim scientists who considered their work to be acts of worship. The same motives led to the establishment of Al-Azhar (800 AD) the first university in the world. They hit the “source ball of knowledge” over the fence to Europe. In the words of Campbell, “The European medical system is Arabian not only in origin but also in its structure. The Arabs are the intellectual forbearers of the Europeans.”
Further More, I would like to state here that your members were killed not because they were Boko Haram members, but because they commit an offence of murder. i.e killing of innocent people and such crime both in Shariah and the Nigerian constitution is punishable by death. If your sect had found these people guilty of any offence, it is not in your hand to take law. But despite that,I am sincerely sorry for your loss and pray that Allah forgive us all.
Lastly, About your insistence that Nigeria use the sheriah law,it is clearly stated in the Qur’an that Allah says: “Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth has been made clear from error. Whoever rejects false worship and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah hears and knows all things.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 256]
One of the fundamental truths established by the sacred texts is that no one can be compelled to accept Islam. It is the duty of Muslims to establish the proof of Islam to the people so that truth can be made clear from falsehood. After that, whoever wishes to accept Islam may do so and whoever wishes to continue upon unbelief may do so. No one should be threatened or harmed in any way if he does not wish to accept Islam.
jihad in Islamic Law can be waged for a number of reasons, but compelling people to accept Islam is simply not one of them.
The reason why jihad was first permitted in Islam was so the Muslims could defend themselves against persecution and expulsion from their homes.
Allah says: “To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged and verily Allah is Most Powerful for their aid – (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right (for no cause) except that they say, ‘Our Lord is Allah’. Did Allah not check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his cause, for truly Allah is full of strength and might.” [Sûrah al-Hajj: 39-40]
Many of the earliest scholars mention that these were the first verses of the Qur’ân that was revealed regarding jihad.
Thereafter the following verses were revealed:
“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them and drive them out from where they drove you out, for oppression is worse than killing. But fight them not at the sacred mosque unless they fight you there. But if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah. But if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 190-193]
From this point on, the scope of jihad was broadened from being purely for defense against direct attack to being inclusive of resistance against the persecution meted out by those who suppress the faith and deny people the freedom to choose their religion for themselves.
As for the spread of Islam, this is supposed to take place peacefully by disseminating the Message with the written and spoken word. There is no place for the use of weapons to compel people to accept Islam. Weapons can only be drawn against those who persecute and oppress others and prevent them from following their own consciences in matters of belief. The Muslims cannot just stand by while people are being denied the right to believe in Islam and their voices are being crushed. This is the meaning of Allah’s words: “And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah.” [Sûrah al-Baqarah: 193]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in his letter to the Roman governor Heracles: “I invite you to accept Islam. If you accept Islam, you will find safety. If you accept Islam, Allah will give you a double reward. However, if you turn away, upon you will be the sin of your subjects.” {Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim}.
Even when the Muslims are compelled to fight and then, as a consequence, subdue the land, their duty thereafter is only to establish Allah’s law in the land and uphold justice for all people, Muslim and non-Muslim. It is not their right to coerce their subjects to accept Islam against their will. Non-Muslims under Muslim rule must be allowed to remain on their own faith and must be allowed to practice the rights of their faith, though they will be expected to respect the laws of the land.
Had the purpose of jihad been to force the unbelievers to accept Islam, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would never have commanded the Muslims to refrain from hostilities if the enemy relented. He would not have prohibited the killing of women and children. However, this is exactly what he did.
During a battle, the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw people gathered together. He dispatched a man to find out why they were gathered. The man returned and said: “They are gathered around a slain woman.” So Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “She should not have been attacked!” Khâlid b. al-Walîd was leading the forces, so he dispatched a man to him saying: “‘Tell Khâlid not to kill women or laborers”. [Sunan Abî Dâwûd]
Therefore, even in the heat of battle against a hostile enemy, the only people who may be attacked are those who are actually participating in the fighting not innocent people.
On this note, I strongly condemn your action of killing innocent Nigerians. As the Qur’an says: whoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew entire mankind; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept entire mankind alive; (Quran 5:32).
Kindly listen to word of Allah and seize the bombing if truly you are behind it and engage in a reasonable dialogue with the Government.

Nigeria Needs A Nigerian National Philosophy Commission(NNPC)
President Jonathan should as a matter of importance institute 'The Nigerian National Philosophy commission(NNPC), to develop a clear national ideology for the Nigerian nation, promote same beyond tribe, religion, region, ethnicity and gender, and do away with the 'Federal Character Commission'. We need to immediately start looking at Nigeria as a nation to survive. The absence of a clear feasible national philosophy for the
Nigerian nation is a costly mistake of our founding fathers that needs to be corrected. No nation can attain national development without a clear nation philosophy, ideology, upon , which its developmental strives are anchored on. We need to correct this anomaly as the modern educated Nigerian citizens. Just as a good home has a master plan so a nation needs a clear national philosophy, ideology, to survive. I will like to see this achieved in Nigeria in my life time.
We, as a matter of importance, need to correct this mistake for the sake of our children, the unity of Nigeria as a prosperous, peaceful n, ation. Humans make a peaceful prosperous nation. It is time we did get it right in Nigeria as patriotic citizens. GEJ cannot do it alone for individuals are differently endowed by God.
Nigeria needs a clear feasible national philosophy to attain national development for no nation can without it. It is not about a commission, or agency, some of our commissions and agencies are no longer relevant and need to be closed down. A national philosophy is the fundamental principle upon which the governance of a nation is based. A nation that has no such moral compass cannot feasibly fight corruption. The main role of NNPC shall be to define all developmental indexes in Nigerian context, introduce them for the sake of development, and promote them.
According to Iya Umar, I think we need much more than that. what we need is for the government to make every Nigerian feel that he belongs and we are a family and inculcate a sense of Nationalism and Patriotism that will make every body work towards attaining a greater Nigeria than is greater than any individual, group or section, irrespective of where you come from. But the clearification is that, the National Philosophy of Nigeria, is that which will be the very basis for our identity, upon which our nationalism or patriotism will be defined. The 2011 presidential election as been widely broadcasted as free and fair,not just by the local observers alone, but also by international observers. These I believe will make most of the people accept the outcome of the presidential election including me. For this reason, I say Congratulation to the President elect (Good luck Jonathan) for winning the election based on the widely published and accepted result released by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This piece is not aimed at condemning or discrediting the outcome of the election, but to critically look at the election and making a firm stand on the following:
1.weather the election was actually free and fair as it was widely broadcasted
2.weather the claim by CPC/Buhari is genuine or not
3. For us as individuals to make a firm stand on the outcome of the election based on fact presented by CPC and others we may get and
4. To note any suspected foul play and learn to prevent future re-occurrence.

following preliminary basics of the technical Biometrics/Forensics methods which details will be made available by the experts:-
65 days to be able to get all voters register authenticated, all disputed
ballot papers examined, any other electoral document assessed, all findings compiled and submitted to the court, and return of all source data and documents to INEC. Our firm has participated in 300 electoral processes in 19 countries with more than 500 million voters tallied for government, private and multilateral organizations.
To the CPC, this use of Forensic/Biometric system based on INEC’s capturing of all the 10 fingers of every voter is a novel idea that can help solve forever the challenges of multiple voting and outright concoction of results; two critical issues in our electoral malpractices.

This is a good one coming from CPC in my opinion,I think it’s high time we forget our interest in Party/Candidate but genuinely look at the case of the claim presented by CPC/Buhari and establish the authenticity of the claims.
I believe we all have the eyes to see the truth and the hearts to judge genuinely.
point of note (Its clear that its almost impossible for Buhari to win in court, but its not impossible for us to know the truth of the election),this will help our understanding in establishing the truth on what really transpired in the presidential election.
Some years to come, our children may ask us about what happened during this period, it will be destructive and unjust to tell them lies, based on our insisting not to know the real truth, its better for us all to open our heart and critically consider the facts and take our stand genuinely.
Claim by CPC in its petition
1. The national average turnout rate is about 52% and about 46% when the substantially above average turnout rate in the South South and South East zones is excluded. Why?
2. The average turnout rate in the South South and South East zones (without Ebonyi and Edo states) at 78% is 50% above the national average of about 52%. How come?
3. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP got over 85% share of the valid votes cast in all the 11 states in the South South and South East zones, with 10 of the said states at 95% and above including 4 of the states at 99% and 1 at near perfect share of 99.6% in his home state. Thus, all the 11 states in the 2 zones had a red flag for being above the national average turnout rate and/or were above 85% threshold. Do ‘these figures of 95% and above for one party suggest that these are fabricated figures’ as aptly stated in 1 above by the BBC World News reporter, more so that 10 states are affected rather than the 3 states he identified?
4. General Buhari of the CPC (and indeed all other opposition candidates) had no single state with a combination of average turnout rate above the national average and share of valid votes in excess of 85%. Why only Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in NOT one, two or three but nine states?
5. The inevitable reasonable conclusion from the incontrovertible facts in 1 to 4 above is that no credible elections took place in the South South and South East zones and that those returns were basically concocted through fraudulent thumb printing and stuffing of ballot papers and/or that the results were deliberately falsified in favour of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP.
8. In spite of the case of res ipsa loquitur (a thing that speaks for itself) adduced in Table 1 above, additional and specific evidence of massive rigging is to be found in Table 2 below which is a summary of a sample of ward level collation results in Rivers State. The average turnout rate in the sample is 49%; which begs the question as to how the turnout in the declared result for the state metamorphosed into well over 76%?
This is definitely a test of how independent INEC is; I sincerely hope INEC will come out of it successfully. I personally believe that scanning the ballot papers for multiple voting will strengthen our democracy and will serve as deterrent against future occurrence since perpetrators know that there is a process that will exposed them. INEC please cooperate and save our democracy, let no ballot paper miss from you custody.
I doubt if PDP/INEC will allow this to go ahead. Unfortunately, the 'blind' followers will also say 'CPC would not have won anyways' forgetting that this is a means of strengthening our democracy.
As a first step though, I suggest CPC should tell INEC to PUBLICLY declare results in EVERY Polling Unit (120,000). They can put this on their website.
The issue is not whether CPC would have won or not but to reveal how the speculated free and fair election was. if this is carried out well it will show how much we have developed in our democracy since its inception.

After proclaiming his daughter Gbemisola Saraki as his next candidate for the governorship election that will be holding in 2011.
The proclamation has generated a lot of controversies and after much consideration, i was able to make the following analysis.
From what we have seen so far, Olusola saraki is not ready to do the wish of the people.
And If Saraki insisted that his female daughter Gbemisola saraki remain his candidate, i.e going against the people in kwara (ilorin), it might result into a riot because from all indications, the alfa are ready to fight against this action and gbemisola is indeed ready for the challenge.
The reaction of the current Governor to the situation.
From what we have seen, The current Governor Bukola Saraki has turned is back on his Father and has really demonstrated to the people publicly that he will do the wish of the people by not making his sister his successor.
The secrete agenda
I sense some conspiracy here, because from my understanding of this situation, I believe The godfather, Olusola saraki is willing to continue is dominance on the people of kwara by transferring the godfather-ism position to his son ( the current Governor Bukola saraki).
both of them try to create this confusing situation for easy transfer of power.
The people of kwara are determined to serve Olusola Saraki to death, but he wants his dominance to extend beyond him alone to his generation on born.
So he decided to create a scenario that will enable his son to demonstrate to the people that he his equally capable of leading the state.

Because the people dislike the candidate of the Father, they will go for the son's candidate and this will mean that Governor Bukola nominated a candidate and he won.

In 1983, he brought C.O Adebayo as the credible candidate,kwarans embraced him in on hearing the voice of their hero.

in 1992, he brought Saba lafiaji to be the trusted and tested candidate,he once again got the mandate from the people.
After ruling, Saraki came back again to say saba is another evil candidate he misplaced for good.
1n 1999, he brought lawal, after some years,he came back to condemned him which lead to violence all across he state.
in 2003, he brought is son bukola,The people still believe in him(Saraki) and supported him, by giving his son the mandate to take kwara to the next level.

3. If saraki as choosed 5 people and all came out to bad,that means the next one he will be choosing will also turn out to be the same as others (bad)

Gbenga Toyosi Olawepo (born 28 June 1965) is a Nigerian politician.
The name Olawepo first made the headlines when as an anti-apartheid activist he and three other students’ leaders of the University of Lagos were clamped into the over-crowded Nigeria Police cell in April 1989 after an anti apartheid protest.
The former student union leader has distinguished himself in partisan politics. The Nigerian Tribune, a newspaper founded by the late Nigerian Nationalist leader, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, captured this properly. The newspaper sometimes ago wrote: “In the political firmament of Nigeria, there are young Saraki’s, young Azikiwe’s, young Adedoyin’s who are children of established political and financial magnates but there are few names that have made it on their own to the political centre stage like Gbenga Olawepo, a rising star with no fall back platform or push of any godfather or back up of any financial empire. Talking of emerging political leaders this is a true discovery’’.
Olawepo again displayed courage when General Abacha suddenly died in 1998, on the eve of the consummation of his planned transmutation into a civilian dictator. The duo of Olawepo and Dan Nwanyawu, now National Chairman of Labour Party, co-ordinating with Jerry Gana, moved into Fort IBB- a military barrack in Abuja, which housed the then Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ishaya Bamayi -a key member of the military high command, to deliver a memorandum suggesting some direction for the transition to democracy. Interestingly, the final programme of transition reflected substantially their input. But it was a risky venture done when the destiny of the nation was hanging in the balance and when there was massive troop movement. Olawepo played prominent role in the transition process. In 1998/1999, he was the Secretary of the Women and Youth Development Committee of the Transition committee established by the then President-elect, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. He also assisted the then PDP Chief spokesperson – Senator Anietie Okon- in running the party’s vast information machinery at the period of campaign and during the transition.

In this Article, when you see me say the Powerful Northern Politicians, I do not mean the northern politician in general, I only mean some few bad eggs. Just as we have some Powerful Southern Politicians (bad eggs) who benefited from the Niger Delta Crisis and other crisis that have rocked this country at one time or the other.
Note( The article is not written with the aim of discrimination, but just the writer opinion on the subject matter)
The Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram said education is a sin despite being educated, and for this reason want Shariah law be adopted first in the north, and now throughout Nigeria as a country.
They had claimed responsibility on several high profiles killing in the north which include the governorship candidate of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Borno State, Alhaji Modu Gubio and six other persons, including the brother to the immediate past governor, Alhaji Modu Sheriff. They had previously claimed that they target their victims due to corruption.
After these killing, they started the bombing and have claimed responsibility on several bombing around the country. Claiming to have embarked on the bombing mission due to the killing of their ex leader and members.
The bombing is ongoing, while they attack banks and claimed the banks were not operating in the interest of the people and according to the Shariah law.
They further declared war between Christian and Muslims in their word as follows:
“We are therefore calling on Muslims in this part of the world to be well prepared because, very soon, we would launch a full scale war between the Muslims and the Christians.
They follow their statement with the bombing of a church and justifying their action by saying they are unbelievers.
These to me is a means of confusing the general public and the government on the real reason behind Boko Haram.
On this day,16th of july,2011,I declare to Nigerians that in my opinion, The Boko Haram Sect is not in anyway fighting any religious fight, But political in its totality which hides under religious struggle through its name and part of his message to have support from the northern public and also hide under reacting to injustice and corruption to get sympathy from across Nigeria.
Their real aim in my opinion is to prove a point and show strength in the use of weapon before Nigerians.
I strongly believe that this Sect was resurrected by some powerful corrupt politicians in the north after the Government had concurred them. Before the concur which leads to the death of their ex leader, I believe they were strictly religious Sect. But when their leader along side some members were killed, they went down and died a natural death. But some powerful Corrupt Politicians in the north used the opportunity to intrude, brainwashed and give them massive financial support to resume, but this time with another agenda.
The Point
During the Niger Delta crisis, the whole of the country feared the Niger delta due to their deadly actions and the use of sophistic weapons. The October 1 bomb blast further confirms their ability to cause great havoc. During this period, the fear people usually have for the north and extent of its damage when it comes to violence vanished as we have seen a more deadly and fast in destructing region which is the Niger Delta. People even compared the northern violence to that of the Niger Delta, and it was assumed or said that the north can not withstand the strength of the Niger Delta in terms of causing havoc.
It was said at a point that the north only used sticks, cutlass and some very few used guns.
To those powerful politicians who usually benefit from the northern violence, they believe that the emergence of more deadly region will automatically reduce their bargaining power compared to that of the Niger Delta politicians.
For this reason, they decided to sponsor the wounded lions (Boko Haram) which leader was killed by the Government.
The politician have their agenda which is purely political, but fueled it under the initial believe of the Boko Haram sect which is religion with a massive financial support and the supply of sophisticated weapons.
This to me is why we see the confusion and inconsistency in the release and stands of the Boko Haram Sect.
The Politicians used this medium to tell Nigerians that besides the cutlass, sticks and minor means of causing havoc usually seeing in the north, it is equally capable and knowledgeable in the use of sophisticated weapon with enough man power and die hard illiterates to carry out the deeds.
I believe this will end soon, as the sect will go into dialogue with the government and the issue will be settled and buried.
